After Cog is unable to reason with Spawn, the ghost of Al Simmons appears to him and they have a heart-to-heart talk. Spawn's epiphany comes when he kills his own ghost. He then returns to the alleys a changed man refusing to be a pawn in someone else's game. He announces to Cog that he is quitting. VFN+
