What is a call to adventure in comics? Last week we spoke about hooking comic readers from the start of your comic and two of the ways you can do this are through the use of an inciting incident or a Call To Adventure. EPISODE THIRTY-NINE: START WITH FOUR-PAGE COMICS
So, you want to make comics, but where do you start? Well, you need to learn the craft and to do this you need to start with writing a four page comic. There’s a fine line between writing a bad comic and writing a great one. if you want to run a marathon, you don't just get up on the day of the event and run the 26.2 miles with no prep and no training. Writing comics is the same. If you want to make comics you need to learn the craft and you begin this marathon comic journey with small four page comic strips...its where all the big British names started, Alan Moore and Grant Morrison to name just two and they all cut their comic teeth at 2000AD writing future shocks. In this video, we’re talking about the top ten Kickstarter campaign must haves as well as looking at the some dos and don'ts! So if you are thinking about starting a Kickstarter campaign, these are the ten things you must have and do to give your campaign the best chance of getting funded. I've built this video around kickstarting your comic, but the fundamentals I share are applicable to literally any type of Kickstarter campaign. Every part is incredibly important and I promise we’re going to look beyond the average basic comic book Kickstarter help. This includes looking at the KS title you use, the importance of a comic Kickstarter video and your Kickstarter pledges.
Sadly, making comics because you love them doesn't get them funded on Kickstarter for comics. Passion can help, but you NEED to do the right things.
