What is a call to adventure in comics? Last week we spoke about hooking comic readers from the start of your comic and two of the ways you can do this are through the use of an inciting incident or a Call To Adventure. So, you want to make comics, but where do you start? Well, you need to learn the craft and to do this you need to start with writing a four page comic. There’s a fine line between writing a bad comic and writing a great one. if you want to run a marathon, you don't just get up on the day of the event and run the 26.2 miles with no prep and no training. Writing comics is the same. If you want to make comics you need to learn the craft and you begin this marathon comic journey with small four page comic strips...its where all the big British names started, Alan Moore and Grant Morrison to name just two and they all cut their comic teeth at 2000AD writing future shocks.
