The moment where Kate Bishop first meets Clint Barton - Hawkeye meets Hawkeye - has been revealed in an image… along with the release date of highly anticipated Disney + series!
As reported by EW today 24th November will be the day to target in your diary - that’s when we’ll get to see the first episode of Hawkeye on Disney +. Like the Loki series, Hawkeye’s episodes will drop every Wednesday, giving comics’ fans even more reason to love midweek since new comic books are also traditionally released on Wednesday.
Kate Bishop was originally created by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung for the Young Avengers series back in the early ‘00s, eventually replacing the then deceased Barton as Hawkeye. The pair got to team up in the seminal run by Matt Fraction and David Aja (some of which seems to provide the basis for the show) and Kate become a major player in her won right with Kelly Thompson’s Hawkeye run drawn by Leandro Romero.
Hailee Steinfeld’s involvement in the show was announced a full year before Disney confirmed it. Speaking to EW, Jeremy Renner (who plays Clint Barton) had this to say about mentoring his co-star through her first MCU project: "That was always my role. Outside of acting in the thing, I was protecting her and giving her the CliffsNotes on how it goes with this kind of filmmaking: Green screen, superhero life, all that stuff. I just wanted to protect her, because there's a lot of physical stuff. She's a wonderful actress, a wonderful human, and I can't wait to see all the cool stuff that she's able to do."
We also know that Vera Farmiga and Florence Pugh will be joining the cast of the show, as Kate’s mother Elenor Bishop and Yelena Belova (retuning after that Black Widow credits sting). The cast will be rounded out by Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox, and Zahn McClarnon. We’ll have more on Hawkeye as it happens! Want more MCU?
