The Comic Crush looks at this year’s festival ahead of our appearance there.

It’s September, and apart from the nights drawing in, the autumnal walks and the excuse to drink more overpriced coffees, the one thing we look forward to here at The Comic Crush is our chance to be part of The Fighting Spirit Film Festival, running from this weekend, 7th -8th September.

And this year is no different. The organisers of the festival, which has been running successfully in Stratford (with a smaller fest in Birmingham) for a good few years now, have relocated to The wonderful Hackney Picturehouse located in the heart of East London.
And this year’s festival will be a banger, believe me.
With six features (including modern classics Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Legacy of Rage) and over 30 short films from up-and-coming movie makers in competition, 2024 is the biggest and best festival yet for the Fighting Spirit Team!
To make your experience at the festival even more fun and worthwhile, The Comic Crush will be there with you, bringing a select display of comic sets and single issues at great prices, all weekend! We’ll have great comic sets so you can get the full story, featuring characters like Batman, Superman, Spawn and many more. And we’ll have a selection of fantastic single issues, including some hard-to-find books!
