It’s been a big couple of weeks for singer Post Malone.

He launched a limited edition Oreo cookie (I’m not making this up). Then, he was named as 2025’s Record Store Day Ambassador, for the annual event which take place on 12th April.

But before he did any of that, The Hollywood Reporter revealed he’s writing a comic to be published by Vault.

Musicians have been part of comics for as long as I can remember. Unlike Kiss way back when, Malone won’t be adding his blood to the printing press as the group apparently did on their collaboration with Marvel.

Even better for Malone: not only does he get to keep his type-O, Michael Bay and Brad Fuller’s production company Platinum Dunes are developing the idea into a feature – before the book even drops!

But what’s the concept behind Post’s four-colour debut? Big Rig is described as Mad Max: Fury Road meets The Evil Dead. Malone is writing with Vault’s own Adrian Wassel and the duo have bought in Nathan Gooden, who’s pencils recently graced Barbaric.

Although book isn’t out until later this year, Vault are releasing a taster for May’s Free Comic Book Day. Malone is excited about his chance to show the comic world his talents on the industry’s biggest day of the year: “This is going to kick ass,” said Malone. “It’s amazing working with Vault and Michael Bay. Turning this idea into what we have has been unbelievable. The team has been crushing it, and I can’t believe we get to be a part of Free Comic Book Day.”

Vault have already be working on books with legacy like Def Lepard and Metallica, and are thrilled to add a modern artist in Malone to that roster. Vault CEO (and brother of Malone’s co-writer), Damian Wassel: “We wanted someone who was at the forefront of pop music. [Malone] told us: ‘I have this idea that I‘ve been trying to see if this would be a cool graphic novel.’ We flew to LA and met with Post. And it sounds like a cliché, but it was a creative match made in heaven.”

Talent and Literary agency UTA put Malone and Vault together and bought Michael Bay into the mix. The Rock and Transformers director shared his excitement about the idea: “I love the art, attitude and characters... I am excited to work with Post Malone and have our creative worlds collide.”

Big Rig is set in The Dark Ages: Hell’s Hordes are invading Europe. A secret sect of the Knights Templar known as The Six Petals pray to God to drive back the demonic surge. What they get as an answer is the Big Rig – a fully loaded tractor trailer, crashing to earth! In the aftermath of its arrival, the only man left standing is an enigmatic former priest excommunicated from the Six Petals. He will become known simply as Trucker and will lead the fight against Hell behind the wheel of a demon-slaying machine.

They prayed for a miracle. They got 25 tons and 18 wheels of holy weapon.

Malone has already had amazing success in the music field, with the record-breaking album  F-1 Trillion, hitting straight at #1 on the Billboard 200. He’s earned him eight 2025 Grammy nominations and will headline - right before he hits the road on his ‘The Big Ass Stadium Tour.’

This isn’t the first time musicians have gotten into comics, but Wassel is keen to stress that this isn’t a ‘vanity project’. According to Wassel, Malone is “very involved”. As Wassel states: “The thing with many musicians is that they are often good writers overall, whether they are writing prose or music. His ideas were a ton of fun. We instantly saw the potential to make something incredible.”
