WarnerTower Music, the soundtrack publishing arm of Warner Bros. has debuted composer Michael Giacchino’s Batman theme.
The theme, composed by Giacchino for Matt Reeves’ upcoming movie features ominous strings, an almost innocent middle section, and a thunderous return to the grief and rage of Batman in the last few minutes.
During its six-minute and forty-seven-second run-time, the piece brings to mind the noir-influenced nature of the film, which will be released on 4th March 2022.
Giacchino is one of the most in-demand composers working in film right now. He has previously composed scores for the Star Trek ‘Kelvin Trilogy’, The Planet of the Apes trilogy, Tomorrowland, most recently composing the music for his third Sony / Marvel Spider-Man film with No Way Home. His scores often rely on traditional orchestras combined with evocative soundscapes and synthesizer work. They often invite comparisons with John Williams, with whom he shares an ability to find a tuneful melody and empathetic emotion.
