We’ve got all the latest on the next big leap for Star Wars as The High Republic era is shown on screen for the first time!
The last two days have been an exciting time for us Star Wars fans! Yesterday, 18th March, Lucasfilm revealed the first menacing poster for the upcoming series, The Acolyte, set in The High Republic era!
Not only that, but we also got a release date for the show: 4th June!
Lucasfilm also revealed they would debut a trailer today! We wouldn’t be much of an entertainment website if we didn’t have it, would we? So you can check that out below.
The series will debut on Disney + and look to sit somewhere between the classic, kid-based thrills of The Phantom Menace and the dark storylines of Ahsoka.
In The Acolyte, an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems….
The series stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
The Acolyte comes from creator and showrunner Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), who also serves as executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana are the co-executive producers; Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Rob Bredow, and Eileen Shim are producing.
