Marvel has officially announced the next character to get the Black, White and Blood treatment: Elektra! The fan-fave assassin, lover of Daredevil and killer for the hand will feature in the four-issue anthology series which has already been graced by the likes of Wolverine, Deadpool and (currently) Carnage.
Although a complete list of creators for the series hasn’t been announced yet, we can expect Charles Soule, Declan Shalvey, and Leonardo Romero to be among the talents bringing to life untold tales from Elektra’s past. Not to mention John Romita, Jr. who provides the first issues’ cover (glimpsed above).
Shalvey, the artist who helped bring Moon Knight to a new audience, shared his excitement at being involved in the project: "I'm very honoured to be contributing to another Black White and Blood project. I'm a big fan of the format and how it inspires all the different takes on these characters. As a diehard Daredevil fan, getting a chance to write one of the most compelling characters from that character's legacy is such a great opportunity. Elektra has become an icon of her own, to work in the shadow of creators like Miller, Sienkiewicz and more is a huge honour. This lady is going to paint the town red, with BLOOD!"
Romero echoed Shalvey’s sentiments: "It's great to participate in Elektra: Black, White and Blood. The opportunity to draw a character as complex as Elektra would be amazing by itself but the possibility of writing my own story is even more special. I'm trying to bring my best to this story, especially on the blood part."
Elektra will feature in the Marvel Universe in a big way in the near future: not only has she recently donned the mantle of Daredevil, but she will feature heavily in the upcoming Devil’s Reign event from Chip Zdardsky and Marco Checchetto. Elektra: Black, White and Blood arrives from Marvel in December!
